Week 1

I think that he makes a valid point about having the preschool run for 2 weeks. That way, the preschoolers are able to learn a little bit more, and be introduced to the theme more in depth, as a pose to just one week where we only have three days of a certain theme. I think its also a good idea, because sometimes kids only happen to come for one or two days of the preschool and don't get to experience all three days of the theme, but if we kept the same theme for 2 weeks, the kids who might have been gone for the first week of the theme, are able to come back the second week and still participate. I think that running the same theme for an entire month is a little bit crazy, because we have to come up with about 4 weeks worth of activities for the same theme, when we already struggle with coming up with three days of activities for one theme.

  1. I agree that if we have the theme for 2 weeks it will give the kids an opportunity to learn new things.

  2. I agree if we do the same theme for longer the kids will get to learn more in depth what we are trying to teach them and it would be beneficial to them. Also I agree that running the same theme for a month is to long but two weeks, which is only 6 days of the preschool, would be a better choice.

  3. It definitely would be more difficult to come up with more activities but it is outweighed by how in depth we would be able to go.

  4. Yes I really agree. We already struggle with planning enough things for activities and circle in one week, I think we would really struggle if we had to multiply that by 4!

  5. Yes a month I think is too long for a theme, but we should really try two weeks. We will also have 4 days of prep instead of two which I think can help us come up with better activity ideas

  6. Yes I think the two week theme would provide a good balance of in depth learning without having to come up with a month's work of activities on one topic
